Here is the close up photo of the seal...Don't have much information about this. I've been told it was from A van Hoytema.

That is a really cool color. How tall is the bottle? What is the basic age on something like this? Scott

It's about 9 inches tall. I'am guessing it's from 1870-1890.

Looks to me like it is a sand pontil, correct me if I am wrong...

What make me interested with this bottle.There is no seam line on the shoulder!! although the bottom looks molded. A friend of mine told me that this bottle was Iron mold which is very unusual on gin bottles.@2find4me: it's not a sand pontil.

I have several case gins, and made quite a study of them several years ago. They started out being made in a wooden board mold box and then went to iron dip molds with vertical lines in the mold wall to help with the lift out of the bottle. I would have to dig out old postings if you want more info. RED M.
