Anybody who knows me and my name(pupman) knows we love our two dogs,Bear and Dunkin but who expects to find all these different critters in the privy's?All are 100% intact as found in 1850's outhouses and are part of my wife's "dog and animal "collection. Thought everybody, especially all our forum animal lover's would like to see these critter! Did I mention we have a leopard tortoise too but have not dug one of those out of the pits...Yet! That's a nice dog you found Rick, we've gotten quite a few other figures out of the pits but what I've shown is probably some of the best of them. I have a 8" figure of a spanial but it needs a little reconstruction at tyhe base. Glad you guys like the figures and think about it;in terms of rarity they are probably much scarcer than most bottles we dig! Kev

Great animal figures. It simply amazes me the things you guys pull out of those privys. Makes you wonder how some of those items wound up in the pit. I would assume that a lot of these items are in the use layer.

Hi Buster, They can be in any layer but most frequently found in the use layer. Somtimes the pits seem like someone turned them upside down and you find the oldest and best items on top,you get down to the bottom or the "night soil "layer only to find the pits been dipped and all the goodies are gone.
