Birth fathers car what is it called I know he had in 1947.when in states

It looks like a custom. Lowered top and front fenders extended through the door to the back fender. Maybe an Oldsmobile or Buick.

Warren: I cheated and asked my dad....he's into antique and vintage cars too. I thought maybe it was a Skylark, 'cause of the "body lines" on the doors, but Skylarks weren't out in 1946 or 47. Looks like those "body lines" don't go through the doors on the Olds....

Didn't the Buicks have the portals in the sides of the front fenders through those years?

I think the portals came along in the early 50s. I know they had them in 1953.

You are probably right Warren, I just got rid of a couple of nice hardback books illustrating cars from the forties and fifties, told myself to hang onto them.......
