Hi Everyone
A few days ago I got this bottle at an antique store. It's embossed with "Phillips Emulsion Cod-Liver Oil New York" I'm guessing it's from the 1880s or 1890s. The seam ends half way up the neck. It has no cracks or chips. The amount I paid for it was a big $0. I traded 3 common ABMs ( 1 small clear Citrate of magnesium and 2 small Sawyer's crystal blueing) for it. I think I did pretty good in the trade. I got rid of 3 not so good ABMS (which I don't collect, my collection consists of BIMs) for 1 pretty good BIM. I was wondering if someone can tell me if I was accurate in my dating of this bottle and if I could also ask for the approximate value of it also. I think it's a common bottle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony

Yes it is common and has little value, but I always like bottles that look good in the window with the sun shining thru them....Jim

I'd say all the information you have put together so far is accurate. Common but nice, not real valuable but quite collectable, well worth keeping, age estimate is correct.

I'd say you made a GREAT trade

The bottles I traded for it were destined for the recycle bin but I held on to them thinking " What the heck maybe I can trade them for something half way decent." I'm glad I did.

Thanks for the replies. It's very much appreciated.
