Hello everyone, I found this at an estate sale probably 3 decades ago and was always curious what the use was and a rough age of the bottle. I always suspected a flask or something like that and my guess was 1840’s for age but I’d like to know your opinions. Thank you everyone!

That's a half post Pitkin-style pattern molded flask. Not common to find them in aqua...that's a beauty. Many of these were blown at the Pitkin Glassworks in Manchester, Connecticut but they were blown elsewhere as well. Likely earlier than you think...could be more like circa 1800. Thanks for sharing!

Location
Way down yonder in New Orleans
Yep, Pitkin swirl flask in a somewhat rare color,,,, good find at an estate sale. I have a green one that was dug and the certain style of these pieces are the neck and some of the shoulders, that are recessed into the body or stand up proud on top of the body, like yours. Nice flasks, I wish I could afford some of them. LOL

Mudbug, et al,
I've been to many tag/estate sales in my time and being a smaller state I'm close to ground zero for Pitkins. Yet, I too, have come up dry on those multi-ribbed swirlies. Oh well, someday;)...

That's an unusual Pitkin, both the color and the extended neck/slightly rolled lip. Dana Charlton-Zarro is the "Pitkin Queen" and has a Pitkin page on Facebook you should post this on. You'll get lots of fairly professional opinions and probably some offers.
