A good friend just sent me an email asking me what I thought this could be can any one help my buddy cause I don't have a clue it looks like a handle .this is how he described it to me >>>>>do you think this glass gobular IS??? It weighs 1# 8 ozs, is a really pretty cobalt blue, looks like it was broken off of something, and is: 5 " X 3", approximately. Almost feels like cold mold.

Thought maybe it was part of a massive handle- maybe in a bar?? Or part of a pendulum for a massive artistic clock??

Let me know what you think.

Looks to me to be "batch glass" or cullet made specifically to be melted down again in smaller quantities for the production of art glass items. Often the chunks are random sized pieces fractured from big masses of glass, but it is also often molded in crude cylinders like that piece, perhaps for easier handling.
