I have found a sight near my house on the riverfront. It has many, many, broken old bottles and have found 2 whole ones. when you dig for bottles are you digging deep or just supposed to scrape the surface, I use to dig with my mom years ago and have had many a find. but me and a friend are just getting back to it and not sure how to dig??? I welcome suggestions from anyfriends out there!! Thanks

Hey Petie,welcome to the forum.

It really depends on the dump, but most dumps have being used over a number of years. So you have to go deep to really find the good stuff. If its got lots of ash you could be looking at 5,6,even more layers of ash, each one containing some goodies.
Any surface stuff is just a bonus, and always start at the bottom and work in and up,that way you don't miss anything.
Also check up and down the river bank for stuff washed out by sprtng flooding.
Keep us posted on your progress. And good luck.
