Click here to see an identical jug--save for the mistakes are yellow splotches, whereas mine has a few little blue dots of another glaze-- but it tells me nothing on it. Debossed in the base is "USA". It's a creamy color with lots of speck of darker color, and a dark tan glaze topping it. It is glazed inside and out, and I got it for one dollar at a thrift store. Anyone know anything on these? As in, when's it from and what did it hold? I'm guessing it's for some kind of alcohol, as they tend to be (Whiskey?) and a 1960s-1970s piece perhaps? It's my first jug. I know nothing on them, just wanted a small one for my collection. Although unmarked, it fits the bill. Forgive the poor-quality photos. I never did take good close-ups. Also, if I could recall the names of things from Clay Sculpture class, I could tell you more on it. But I know what I'm seeing, that the photos cannot show. Sorry 'bout that. I made a small unfinished bottle there once. Watch it go for big bucks one day as Folk Art. Even gave it a cap that decently works. [:D]
