Aqua GI-37 Damage or Defect?

I picked this aqua GI-37 up at a local auction recently. As you see the lip is rough, my question: Is the lip damaged or is it a defect.

Looks like just a rough shear job to me. I wouldn't even call it a flaw or defect but many collectors will still turn up their nose at it, mostly because of their lack of knowledge / experience.

I recently tried to sell a scarce flask with similar finish and most shied away or offered too low a price.

In hand inspection would be necessary to make the above positive.

I agree, it looks like a rough shear job. It's my first historic flask and I got it for a decent price so I'm thrilled to display it.

I can't get to my McKearin - Wilson book right now but I would try to check to make sure that that particular flask in known with a sheared mouth.
