That is a killer flask you dug. Could be unique. The dark blue Apothecaries' Hall has good color for that bottle; most are medium blue to kind of a "washed out" blue. Any other SF druggists/pharmacies in the haul? Appreciate some close-ups of the other finds. Nice to read about a dig where the best bottle of the day isn't broken![:-] Was the cast iron stove something worth salvaging?

Awesome flask! It is a good larger size too, which certainly doesn't hurt the scarcity or value.

I likewise would like to see some close-ups of the other embossed bottles you excavated.

Thanks everyone for the replies!!!!

Donald, will check on the makers mark on the doll head; it is in perfect shape.

Surface, Thanks for the link to the 1881 directory. From what came out of the pit I think this bottle is late 1880's. Will visit the UofA Library special collections soon and go through the later years. The Wilkins you found are probably kin.... Like your vigilante photo; are you in Tucson??

Dabeel "Doug"- I will send Ralph an email and see if he has seen it. Thanks! Michael Miller has a great book of AZ bottles but this one is not in it.

botlguy- If you are ever in Arizona you are welcome to come to a dig with me and screen some dirt or dig or just talk bottles. I am 49 now and when I get to old to dig I will either have a wheel chair with a backhoe attachment or higher some one to dig and watch; haha.

Cowseat- The beer is not cobalt it just has really cool patina; will take a few close ups ASAP. The only problem is I may have given a lot of it away; trying to get ohters interested in digging.....

Sandchip "Jimbo" - Yes the Pumpkin has nice Patina, dug a broken one that had the embossment with even better patina and no neck or sides; gave it to a friend in Phx area.

Lordbud - Ya the Apothecaries is really nice; no other SF stuff; will keeep you posted on my next digs; the stove was really a rust ball; broke apart.....

Plumbata - Will take some closeups of what I still have....

Best to All.... Karl

Love that flask! What a great find. Thanks for sharing the photos. Not listed in Thomas's book either. You got a winner there for sure!

I haven't dug since I was a kid. I miss it real good. If I missed I'd bad that wouldn't be good, right?
Anyhoo, aside from grammar and boring stories of my exploits I know one thing from my experiences. That is that over the last 40 years or so everything I dug is common.
You one the other hand have yourself a treasure.
Congratulations Karl!

That punker is a S-M-O-K-E-R!! 13' pit? I have dug my share in AZ and never found one over 6. Must've been a Tucson commercial privy.

Tim, Thanks for checking your book. I will go to the library this week and look through the directories to find out when Wilkins was in business.

Kastoo, GA! Will be your nieghbor in the future. Have my sights on Aiken,SC. Keep on diggin for the locals....

Cowseatmaize, do not know how much is luck or number off holes. A little of each.....

Caldigr2, Dug one across the street it was 10 foot deep, have dug 50-60 in Prescott all 5-8 foot deep. This one was 13 becuase my 14 foot latter was almost not enough. It was a home; for sure.

Attached another rare one I dug on my second pit in Prescott; very lucky.....

Thanks all, and all the best. Karl
