I recently won this Atwood's in a lot. I bid on it because the embossing looked different than most I've seen. It's an early example with sided shoulders, probably late 1870s, early 1880s.
Embossing reads: Atwood's/ Jaundice Bitters/ M. Atwood/ Formerly/ Georgetown/ Mass.

Is this a known version?

I looked this one up for you and yes, it's a known and common varient. Listed as A-117 in the Ring/Ham book. It would be cool to collect all the 25 or so varients.

Thanks Paul. I really like it because it reminds me of the M. Carter version. I'm working on a run of these, I think the yellow olive one will be the hardest to get!

n, Let me know if you need any other info, I'll be glad to help if I can. Is there any definitive reference material on Atwoods that you know of?

I can't say I know of any, but I could definitely use the Ring/Ham book. Just can't afford one right now...
