Found this guy last week cant get any info?? Im guessing the J C stands for Jersey City? Any help on location, year & if its rare or not would be great! Thanks!!
Hey Virginia,
It is an attractive bottle. I suspect that it did not use an hutchinson stopper. It is possible because Hutchinson made extra long wires that were designed to retro-fit into existing long neck bottles, but this doesn't 'feel' exactly right. My guess is that this is approximately TOC and that it used a cork or a bail type stopper. It is an oddball with the slug plate, long neck and low shoulders. Any glassmaker markings that might help date it?
Definately Jersey City, New Jersey. Have dug several over the years. Unfortunately they are not rare but still a nice little bottle. Dates to around 1890. Yours seems to be in very good condition. Thanks for posting this.
Hey Ernest,
Good to see you here. Welcome!
Yours was one of the first Treasure hunting sites I visited on the Internet, some years ago.
Did you ever track down the thieve(s) who stole your CW artifacts?
