Glad you made your own call, Rick, 'cause I was gonna slam 'yer a** on the flippin' "Christmas Ball". You guys have as much fun as we do. Today, we probed out what was a 6 footer, but since the construction guys took off 2 feet of overburden all we have is the "meat" for mañana. Just as we were packin' up the contractor came driving up in a big rig with a crawler tractor. We booked out and locked the gate behind us. Gone in 30 seconds. I hope they aren't workin' the site tomorrow morning.

No penalties, dude, we do have permission from the project super. We have to keep a very low profile in order to divert the other diggers. We spent an hour filling in holes that tweaker diggers made redigging holes that I dug in the '80s. back then i used my 4X4 to drag down concrete stairs from a 1950s apartment building that covered the old 1850s house sites. We had drilled almost all the pits, but recent earth removal proved that a few were missed. One of these days I'm gonna make a Youtube vid like yours. those are too cool, Rick. Hey, how'd I miss you at York?

After a day of running a cat and a sheepsfoot over our pit they cleared out at 3 PM. Soooo, we hit the pit. It was tough going the first foot, but we persevered, boosted by the hope of 1860s glass. WRONG!! it was a bleeping Celestial pit. That's right, the Chinese kiss of death. The only things whole were a couple of bean pots and a crude Ayers. Shee-itt!! Once we ID'd the pit as Chinese I wanted to stop and fillitin. Nothing ever comes from urban pits where they resided except smashed glass. How can a cobalt soda and a couple of big John Bulls be turned into pieces so small that they were barely identifiable? Aaargghh.
