Perfect day for a battle...not too hot and not too cool. Here is a little synopsis...
The Battle of Bentonville was fought March 19–21, 1865, in Bentonville, North Carolina, near the current town of Four Oaks, as part of the Carolinas Campaign of the American Civil War. It was the last major battle to occur between the armies of Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman and Gen. Joseph E. Johnston.
Took a few pics....enjoy!
Confederate Calvary
Union Soldiers digging their trenches...
Union artillery...
Confederate calvary attacks...
Union soldiers dug in...
Union artillery starting to fire...
more Confederate calvary...
Things are heating up...
Confederate line is inching closer...
Here they come...
Right on top of each other....after all that I think there was 5 people laying on the ground afterwards, lol.
Rebs attacking from the other side now...
Not done yet...
Give'em hell...
Had the Yanks surrounded, just outnumbered.
I could only imagine the hell these soldiers went through back then.
Another charge from the front...
Yanks got them back peddling.
Hey...those cheaters have Henry repeaters!
Bad guys won. [] There were alot more Rebs during the reenactment than there were Yanks. If it was a real war the Union wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes. If I had to guess, there were a couple thousand reenactors total. During the real battle there was 60,000 Yanks and 20,000 Rebs. 4,738 total deaths from the 3 day battle.
