Bennington snuff bottle?

Is this really a Bennington snuff bottle? I have a few and had wondered what they were used for.

In a word, "No."

ORIGINAL: akronmarbles

The boot was made in Akron, Ohio by the American Marble & Toy Manufacturing Co, sometime between 1891 and 1904. Originally came with a cork in the hole. All of these were found at the factory site including the two rejects that are glazed together.

It was a head scratcher for me too. Mine fits, very decoratively, I might add, on top of a #2 pencil.

So, what are they really worth if I sell them at my booth in the antique center? Thanks to your help I'll correctly identify them, altho I must admit Bennington snuff bottles sound cooler, being from the Northeast!

Hey Jane,

I've no clue on the "worth." I've only got the one toe chipped model, from a particularly memorable frozen dig, so it's a sentimental favorite for me.

There are boot flasks that have the Rockingham / Bennington finish.

They are bigger and older.
