Jr. and I got to go on one of our long awaited low-water excursions. We go to look for fossils mainly, sometimes find indian artifacts, and seldom will find an embossed hobbleskirt or some older shards of bottles.
Jr. found a nice bison antiquus partial skull with one horn. Been extinct for about 10,000 years according to the experts. I found a few odds and ends dinosaur bones and to my surprise, a complete hutch from Memphis. It looks like its been rolling in the river for its whole life, but I kind of liked it.
I am calling the Hutch the unexpected discovery, since we always expect to find nice fossils and long extinct animal bones whenever we go. The bottles just never seem to fare very well out there, so finding a relatively old one in one piece is very unexpected. Hope you enjoy the pics. I am also gonna include a pic of Jr.'s Mastodon tooth he found a few years ago. I may have already put it up here somewhere, can't remember, but its a good one for sharing just about anytime.
Later!
