Hey everyone stopped by an antique store today and found this buried in the back. Its a clear toneco stomach bitters. I figured any tooled top bitters bottle is worth $10 so i picked it up. How did i do?
Sorry I can't help.I looked through all my glass works auction catologs and couldn't find your bottle.I know little about bitters ,but know I would jump to buy the one you have for $10 ! Some one out there has to have the HAM /RING book and can tell you something!
Tony ,
Your Bitters bottle is listed as Common . I think you got a decent deal on price.
These are up and down in prices over the last few years. I have seen them from 15.00 - 25.00 at Shows .
Hope this helps !
I look at all the Bitters on ebay every week and Toneco is on there occasionally but not all the time. Usually it is the ABM variety and they sell for under $20. The tooled top one is better but not in much demand since it is a clear bottle, probably $25. - $30. A good deal for $10. though.
The Toneco Stomach Bitters was a western product. It was part of the Lash's Bitters Company. The bottle is a square sixth and is common. Made from 1908 through 1917.
