My kids are always calling me old so figured I would give them some proof with some fake antique photos. Should have used an old hand saw to make it more realistic.

Great photos man, so are/were you in the logging trade? Looks like a very interesting and exciting profession.

Also, aesthetically speaking, that last image is superb. Reminiscent of the old pictures of workers on the Empire State Building. Definitely worthy of being framed or distributed on postcards. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, been logging since 1971. I've tried a few other trades in between but always end up back in the brush. Gotta love the great outdoors.

I have to stay politically neutral on the subject... but I've wielded a chain saw a few time myself. There's nothing like those cracking sounds when a tree comes down. [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]
You should ask for one of those logging shows though. I bet they pay a lot more. I'm not crazy about the one in the swamps though. Around here you can't do anything without big fees and miles of paperwork to just cut down one tree in a wetland.
Oops, not very neutral after all.[:D]

It's amazing they could do that with axes and hand saws and they always picked on the biggest trees they could find. If I had to use an ax I would pick the ones that were more christmas tree size.

Dropping trees is frowned apron on my job. Bucket trucks are the norm. we use the "tootsie roll" method. Cut from the top down. But if the tree is taller then the bucket,we have to brake out the old school rope and saddle.

From the bottom of the deepest outhouse to the top of the tallest trees. Sounds like a good slogan for your business card.
