Hi everyone I am new here. I am a avid treasure hunter and like to pick up bottles along the way. I also will dig pits at old homesteads after I am done detecting them. I also have dug a few dump sites in the past. I am learning more about bottles now and this web site looks very good for getting started. Most of the bottles I find are probably only 50 to 100yrs old. I leave alot behind because I don't really know there age. But I'm learning what to look for a little bit more now. This bottle shown here I picked up in a park built in 1894. It was a nice looking bottle and wasn't broken so I kept it. Here's what I can tell you about it. It is a clear and pink glass mix. Not sure how to describe that color. It is 7 inches tall.It reads Schwartz Strauss & Co. Fine whiskeys. Philadelphia P.A. It appears to be ,machine made not sure thoe. It has a seem that runs along the sides of it. The bottom and the top seem to be molded to it. There are no markings on the bottom or anywere else accept for the middle. If you guys could help out with a age and maybe a value would be great. Just want to know more about bottles and collecting. Also want to know if these types of bottles are worth my time to pick up while I'm out. Thanks again all Jeremy.

O.k Thanks Jeff. So would you say that this bottle dates between 1897-1918. You guys are quick here. That is more than what I new about this bottle before I came here. Thanks for taking the time to check it out. Take care Jeremy.
