Attention: Sages of the Sand
I saw this bottle in an antique store - the seller wanted $18 for it. I'm hoping someone can tell me if it is worth that....I haven't bought it yet.

It is approx 9" tall. It has J Robertt Castleford
Coods Pat. Bottle Extra Strong Glass
Has an image of a castle's turret w/flag.
On the bottom, it says Made in India 10 oz 4.02

The interesting part is that it is made in two sections - the top part has a metal, lead?? , marble in it. It also has a stopper on top.

I would appreciate your thoughts on this bottle.

sounds like a newer Indian Codd bottle that people have meantioned.
Doesnt sound like a good deal to me. I hope they arent putting lead marbles in them ...but then India is trying to control thier population growth...

Welcome to the forum Frankie,
It sounds a bit unusual but will be post 1950's (probably post 1980's [;)] ) and not worth anything. The Indians have copied a few old English trade marks name and all on some of their codds, easy to tell the difference though with the modern ones having that odd flat, over thick base.
Anyone got a photo of an old codd and a new one side by side? easy to see the difference in a photo but hard to discribe [:D] .
