Hello Jeff,

Welcome to the A-BN, and thanks for bringing this nicely etched beer bottle.

Here's a search of previous Hop etched bottles.

It has a British look to my eyes, but that's just a guess. Are there no markings?

There are also crown tops with similar etching in the same color, I have one around here somewhere, I'll see if I can find the pics

Found it, as you can see the base is kicked up and it's an applied lip....I think they held a kind of Weiss Beer with a good amount of yeast which is why the kickup on the base, to keep the yeast settled along the bottom when pouring...

Not sure what this bottle held but it sure got around. Panama the East coast and this one from California.

Hey hops is a main ingrediant of beer,so I say beer or ale

The crown tops are semi-common around cntral PA. When you dig them, there are usually more then one. Think we got about 20-30 out of a pit once.
