I didn't think much about it but then I was putting this stoneware back on it's shelf when I realized the seller was in Hawaii and I'm all the way in Paterson N.J.. Now I can understand people carrying older glass bottles there but this thing is 11"tall and weighs like 3-1/2 lbs., that's 3729.86 miles. Seems pretty cool that it wound up there for sure...

so Jim,

Is it indeed a Patterson bottle? Looks great for having all that mileage. What's it debossed?

Yes it is , it's a Philip Pfannebecker bottle direct from Paterson NJ, one of two I own and one of five total stonewares I have this size. All from Paterson...This is another Pfannebecker in brown glaze...He went on to use that diamond pattern in some of his glass bottles as well

Man,

Those are some Fine Philip Pfannebeckers! Try saying that 5 times, fast. So, are you writing up anything for the local Historical Society on your collection? You have got some wonderful pieces. I enjoyed your CDV show, too.

What were the original contents of the glass bottle? It is really great embossing...but standing up it would be sideways...so I was just wondering? I have some various stoneware bottles but not these kind...very nice collection!

Thanks for sharing the pics!

Either soda or mineral water is my understanding, Paterson has more quart hutch's than any city in the USA and I have 4 that have vertical embossing but I have special little stands made from plastic to display them on there sides so they always look great and can easily be read.
TY,
Jim

Hello and thanks for the presentation. You make collecting bottles interesting.
One question though - I am not familiar with the CDV that surfaceone mentioned.
