I bought one the other day and it is the first that I have ever seen.
There are no marks on it and I'm wondering if it is europeon or were burst lips made in the USA? I didn't think they were.

There is one that is believed to be made in England, if it is it's scarce/rare . There is at least 1 made in the states that I know of and it's embossed on the base KIRTLANDS INK. Kirtlands ink was from Poland, Ohio.

Do you mean burst lip inks or any bottles with burst lips? I have an american burst lip example, but its not an ink.

I have a burst top umbrella ink I dug in a Civil War camp. I beleive its US made.
Burst lips are pretty uncommon on US bottles.

There is another american burst top ink made here. It looks like a house and is embossed NE/PLUS/ULTRA on the roof. I was told this was blown in a western glass house.

Hey Mark, how ya been bud? Good to see you posting... The first ink I ever dug was an igloo, it was unmarked, had more panels then a j&iem, was made of very thin glass and had a burst ground lip... Is yours similar? Wish I still had mine...
