Just before Xmas, no snow on the ground yet and still mild, I was itchy to dig some dirt before we were snowed in for good. Decidede last minute type thing to check the embankments along a lake and on the way check the woods behind a cemetary. Never found anything of any signifigance around any other such places that I tried before other than the standard faded plastic flowers and crosses, and plastic planters and the odd tombstone that somehow made its way down the hillside. Besides perhaps the odd shard left by a thirsty gravedigger. As I make my way along I swing in close along the woods bordering the cemetary and find an embankment with a small stream rushing by and a crude attempt at a rockwall back there. Ever have that feeling that you just knew there nwas a dump there before you actually found it , so I was not surprized when I came across some turn-of -the-century refuse. As dusk started to creep in early it gave me only enough time to turn a few cans.
