Hey Mudmonkey
Looks like you have a problem with water also, The dump we dug last summer was about twelve feet deep. We can only dig to the bottom during a drought . Last summer we dug across the entire dump about ten to twelve feet down and about 40- 50 feet wide all the way across till we hit our old holes from two years ago. Thats the last time the water table was down far enough to get to the silt. Thats where the oldest stuff was. Over Labor Day week I dug out three Seitz Premium Mineral Waters in one week. I gave one to my digging buddy. I Have a total of three in good shape, all came out of about a ten foot area. This dump was a pond years ago and fills with water. Right now there's about five foot of water in it. Now we're forced to dig the edges or sometimes we dig off the top 5or6 foot till we can get closer when it's time. I'll post some pics sometime, I have to scan them since alot of my pictures were taken with throw away cameras. Seems dirt always gets into the good digital even in ziplocks.
