We happened on this interesting trade card (Which would be a cool sub collection category) but we usually don't collect them,...We had to bid on it because it has our Maine coon cat, "Leo's" exact likeness on it...Now all we need to do is dig a "Bell's Sarsaparilla"[:D] Joe

Leo found this towel by his tub and wrapped himself up in it.

Who is winning the grand prizes? Sounds like the cat, but it must be the sasaparilla.

That was a cool story of how they found the jug! So, it was a jug, not a bottle? Did they make bottles as well? I never thought about the prize being for the Sarsaparilla, but that could be too. It says it's a champion cat.

Darn old cat if the prize dates are accurate: 1883, 1884 ...135 years old must be a record in cat years.[8D]

Bell's Sarsaparilla was produced by Alex M. Robinson Jr. in Bangor, Me. Robinson was originally from Dexter, Me and was a Civil War vet who died in 1910. His Bell's Sarsaparilla came in both the small stoneware jugs and also in a 9.5 inch clear rectangular bottle.
