These Wm. J. Bryans are rated common. I bet someone has a horde of these sitting in a box somewhere. This current example is over $200 for the common cornflower ("washed out") blue these are usually found in. Eastern blown. 5 1/4 inches.

And this previously auctioned Wm J. Bryan that ended January 14 went for the relative bargain price of $154.01 although it seems to have a deeper blue tone according to the pictures provided. 4 3/8 inches.

WHAT?! I have dug several and never got over 60 bucks for any of 'em. Guess I'd better put a $500 reserve on the next one I dig.

I would have been buying these Bryans and Apothecaries' Halls up back in the day, instead of just grabbing a few. Sell one every 6 months or so on ebay...

Continuing the "shades of blue" Western druggist thread, a regular ebay seller from the Central California Coast has put up a Gilroy druggist Weaver & Wentz in an interesting "washed out" cobalt blue color. I've seen one other of these in dark cobalt coloration in the collection of Mr. Mark H. He might still have it.

The Weaver & Wentz in the above post reached its "reserve" which the seller kindly put in his description in big letters. Don't know what the other bidders were thinking. Interesting to see how high this one goes. Haven't seen another of these examples on ebay.

This Weaver & Wentz druggist went for a closing bid of $393.00. Not too shabby for a Gilroy, Cal'a. bottle.
