Could it be any smaller?

Hi,

Found this small medicine bottle at the bottle show this weekend in Savannah, GA. It is the smallest drug store embossed bottle of its type that I have ever seen. Just a hair over 2 inches tall it is embossed SULTAN / DRUG CO / ST. LOUIS / U.S.A. I show it next to a nickel and also an Owens bottle with paper label that states "A miniature Owens Oval. The Smallest bottle ever blown on an automatic machine. Owens Bottles logo." The back of this one is embossed OWENS in the glass. I've had this Owens bottle for a while.

I also have one of those. Haven't found any info on it yet. Heart pills maybe?

SULTAN DRUG CO. ST. LOUIS
St. Louis directories first included the
Sultan Drug Co. in 1890; the Peacock
Chemical Company was listed in 1893,
Frederick W. Sultan, President. Both
firms were located in the 1929 and 1930
American Druggist. but were merged as
the OD (old) Peacock Sultan co. in
1935 and 1948
Clear 2 1/16" x 7/8" x 1/2"

There are also two other Sultan Drug Co St Louis
& London

Wow! Great information! What sources do you use to do such research? I have several dose glass with drug store names, but no other information (no city or state). How would I go about researching these stores?

Hi Tracy the source is " The bottle book" Richard Fike
I have had this book for a long time and understand that now it is expensive and hard to find. Local drug stores probally would not be listed. I have a Seattle Drug Store Shot type glass that is not listed.
