Could use some help with this one

It is huge. Over a foot tall and almost 2 feet around.

Obviously has the makings of an old one but the color has me thinking it is too good to be true for it to be as old as it looks.

Any ideas about what it is and if it is as old as it appears?

Gonna say recent made. Does not look old to me. Looks vaugely Mexican made to me. But I am wrong as much as right. The experts will chime in any second now with definitive answers..

I agree pretty much I just wanted to make sure. It saw it in a corner of a shop for only $12 so I decided to take it home and figure it out.

It's actually a very nice looking jar.

My wife liked it so I figured I'd just get it on the outside chance I was wrong and it was old and if not I'd just give it to her and let her do something with it.

No harm done.

I just don't mess with enough of this kind of glass to have been 100% sure.

nice bottle/color.Does it have seams? I agree with old timer.Either mexican or japan(1960s-1980)...Even if its new -if your a lover of "glass",its appealing.Different people buy different bottles for different reasons []. I recently bought some "new' pharmacy bottles from a candle store because they had great form & color.(although with me this rarely happens).
