I dug this last Summer I think. What is the consensus?

Consensus....DANG GOOD LOOKIN FLASK [] Does it have an OP? That's an odd looking closure on it; almost like it would have had a cup/lid on it. I really like it.

looks like a GXV-5. A pint?? You see them around every so often, but not common.
I like them.

Would that date 1870s ? I have a tall bottle , three piece mold , with sort of a ladys leg neck , I think it is a beer bottle , could be wrong . A Capt. Neihausse from Cincinnati . It has the C & I glass mark on the bottom . I have often wondered how old the thing is .

Thanks Matt , the bottle is not pontiled , but I know it has quite a bit of age to it . It is aqua in color , but is really a sharp looking bottle to look at . Wish I had it handy for taking a pic of it . Regretfully , it is out in the garage wih so many of my other bottles . Maybe I will try and get a picture taken of it later today .

I wouldnt expect it to be. Their early bottles often used key molds though which are cool.

This bottle stands eleven and a half inches tall , by three inches in diameter Matt . My guess it is a beer , but it could be something else I suppose . Don't know where the devil I came up with Captain , as you can see it is embossed Jos. for Joseph I guess . One of my favorite bottles from Cincy .
