Hey Folks,

I came across a bottle at a thrift shop. I has a applied top that is crooked with drips, one mold seam is very defined and goes all the way to the bottom of the applied top. The other seams are very light that stop about an inch from the bottom of the applied top. The bottle is a pretty olive green color. Someone had put some type of epoxy resin stucco type stuff over the raised oval on all three sides. It looked like an old Glen Livet Pinch Flask, for a dollar who could go wrong. I soaked the bottle in mineral spirits to try to remove the expoxy stuff with no luck, then used Goof-off to no avail. Finally decided to pick at it very carefully. After about an hour I got one side of it revealed " . GEORGESKY . WINE COCKTAIL ". I apologize for not having the exact pictures. I will upload them after work today. I have attached a picture of a bottle that it looks like, but mine is green.

Does anyone know of " . GEORGESKY . WINE COCKTAIL ", I have searched the web to no avail.

Thanks again!

For a dollar and some of your time, it's a pretty neat looking bottle. I looked on the internet for a couple of minutes and struck out as well. If you know someone with access to ancestry.com, they might be able to help based on the name, possible location and employment stuff from census records.

Hope you find some more dollar bottles!

Scott,

Thanks for your time and direction. I will be working on getting the other sides cleaned this week. Hopefully one side has the bottlers name as well. I'm not sure if the "GEORGESKY" means GEORGES - KY as in Kentucky, GEORGE SKY or just as it spells.

Thanks again for the input!

Jeff

Alright, here are some pictures. The bottle is in great shape with no chips or cracks! Just a lot of tender cleaning to do.

You can see they used the stucco crap and a gold marker or paint.

There is a large neat bubble encased in the bottom glass.

Thanks again for your help!

Reckon they meant George's Kentucky Wine when they cut the mold?
