El Monstro de Gotham

The Monster of New York

Daniel McGee and his band, The Manhattan Well Diggers who live and work and dig for history in New York City hit a monster honey hole behind a row of old red brick town houses soon to be demolished by a land developer.

Dan was kind enough to send me, Rob Campbell everything at Dumpdiggers and I wrote it out as,

Digging Long Forgotten Outhouse Privies in Manhattan NYC

Here are some of the pictures that I didn't use in the post,

Just to get your hearts beating faster and your mouth salivating... does the above image provoke a Pavlovian response?

Are 1840s cathedral shaped pickle jars worth anything?

How about this one,

He found a lot of inks and those aren't even my favourite. He found a blue tea kettle that I'd like to own.

Dan found patent medicines too. He sent me shots of some of the bottles that he's cleaned and one is this nice . This is what I collect, but from Toronto or Canadian where possible

HASTINGS COMPOUND SYRUP OF NAPTHA, circa 1855-1860.
"Hastings Compound Syrup of Naptha" was invented in London in 1848 by Dr. Hastings who promoted his formula as 'The great Remedy for Consumption, Asthma, Spitting of Blood, Night Sweats, Husky Throat, Wasting of the Flesh, Coughs, Colds and all Diseases of the Chest and Lungs.

Sounds like an early Vick's Vapor Rub
