Hello all,

New to this forum, 30 minutes ago! Very informative.

Many years ago while my dad was working at a pharmacy in Hayward Ca. (SF Bay Area), the owners decided to remodel their store. The original store probably opened in the early 1900's, maybe before. My dad acquired about 150 to 200 small bottles used for chemicals that were to be tossed. In those days pharmacists had to compound medicines for all sorts of ailments.

Most of the bottles are small brown glass corkers (is this a proper term?) with corks and labels intact and in very good condition, some of them are embossed and there some patent medicines in their original packaging.

I've had them for about 10 years and I've decided to document them...ah the digital age!

I would like to see what potential demand there might be...most likely they will be passed on to the kids...can I tell them to hang on the collection and maybe some day they'll be worth something?

Thank you for all that read this and any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

Any of your bottles embossed with these names:
Bowman, A.E.
Reid, R
Rogers' Pharmacy
Sporndli, E.

Most of the Hayward druggists are listed as "1" or "common" in Miller's book, but if you have a labeled example it would bring a fair price from a local collector.

Lord...thanks for taking a look. I will look at the bottles again, have to get better pics as well. I am not familiar with 'Miller's' book...where might it be available?

One label I do recall is 'Fritschie and sons' (?) of San Francisco
