Here's a crier for me. I dug this jug at a cellar hole I have been digging in. It was stuck in the side wall. It has a chip in the lip, and the handle is broken off, but this is as close as I have come to a whole jug. I usually just find pieces. I'm happy with it though. It will hold my change just fine. Thanks for looking. HH Kevin

Nice jug but I wouldn't get too upset over that. I don't see a maker's mark or any blue vitreous glaze so it wouldn't be worth more than $25 in my opinion. I know what you mean though....wish it was whole!

Nice find, hopefully more jugs come out of that cellar hole. Not sure if it was dumped or one that never left the cellar, but if it is one that was left and slowly buried by the structure, I'd try to follow the original floor outline along the walls and corners. Might me more goodies waiting for ya.

I have been poking around in this cellar hole for a couple years when I get a chance. I'm not sure how old the site is. The earliest map I can find is 1907, and the house is listed on that map. I have pulled out bottles from the 20's-40's. Nothing really great. Lots of broken stuff. Also pulled an old tricycle, the iron ring from a wagon wheel, and some other things. I was gonna give up on this hole, until I found the jug sticking out of the wall. Maybe there is some older stuff down below. I will dig some more when the weather breaks.
