well, according the No. Amer. Soda a beer bottles site:

Crown lip, circ: 1892-present ( I put 'present' for they had '2000')
This type of lip was extensively used on beer bottles after 1900 and were standard after 1920. They were mostly used on champagne shaped beer bottles, but do occur on porter shaped beer bottles.

Not being my area, not familiar with the shapes. but according to this site, this is a porter shape. So it's kinda contradicting.

Porter shape, circ: 1760-1918
Typical size: 7 x 3" or 6 3/4 x 2 3/4"
Also in quart size and sided
Used to bottle various heavy beers such as porter, ale, and stout.

guess you could continue on your own here:

http://www.sodasandbeers.com/index.html

I guess there could be exceptions.. They have a Date Your Bottle link. I cant determine every part they ask for so maybe you can fill in all the blanks.

You are absolutly correct. I didn't notice the seam going through the lip. Can this post be moved to after 1900? Thanks for keeping me on my toes and I should look more closely before posting. This is my newest of many hobbies and I have learned a bunch from eveyones posts and input. Thanks again.
