This amber late 1860s Hostetter's Bitters came from a High Sierra mine site. All of the bottles that have survived the harsh environment up there come out super sparkly, with only a rinse needed to wash off the 140 years of dirt. I'm gonna try the multi pic thing, so here goes.<a href="https://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/old86/?action=view&current=Hoss1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/old86/Hoss1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="https://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/old86/?action=view&current=Hoss2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/old86/Hoss2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="https://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/old86/?action=view&current=Hoss3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/old86/Hoss3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Well, so much for that thought. No multi pics for me. The files are too large for this format Fugetaboutit.

Done on a mac. Nice looking Hostetter's, Mike. I really like the neck. I know you're gonna overcome the vicissitudes of the multi-picture hurdle. Least ways, I hope so, cuz I always like seeing & reading about your digs.

I use a I-mac, but for some reason I can't figger out the right combo from Photobucket. I can post one pic at a time, but who wants to do that. Why don't they show? I left the bottle over paper 'cause water was still running out of it. Most of the early Hostys we find are dark green, so amber ones are kinda hard to come by in the 1860s molds.

Hello Mike,

Give this a whirl & see if it doesn't work for you. When you want to post a picture, or pictures, go to the photobucket page, find the little section that is headed "Share this image," drop down to the IMG Code, and copy the code. Place this code in your post. What you have copied will start with
b], which you wanna change to [IMG]. That copied IMG Code will end with[b]
, which you wanna change to [/IMG]. Try this and see how many photos you can spread throughout a post. Please take this opportunity to show us some more High Sierra finds.

Meanwhile, did'ya see High Sierra with Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino the other night? Always liked that film.

Hey Mike,

I figured an easier way using photobucket. Wherever you want to add an image in your post, place the cursor where you want the image, and click the "add image" button. (at the right of the toolbar) It will give you a window to paste a code. Then go to your photobucket album and place the cursor on your image. A drop down box will appear with four codes. Copy and paste the "direct link" code and click ok. The image should load right up and be visible in your post. This way you can post as many pics as you want, and put text or captions in between them. You can put together some really nice postings this way. Enjoy! ....ps, I like the stuff you've been posting, keep it up, and good luck on your next dig.

Oh, another thing, the HTML coding you used doesn't work on this format - it's not that the files were too big. When you use an image hosting site like Photobucket, it doesn't matter how big the files are, because you are just linking to images that are hosted by Photobucket's HUGE server - you're not uploading all that data to the forum's tiny server.
