Here's an ad from the Penobscot Indian Medicine Co. of Old Town, ME (1895-96). I'd sure like to know more about the Electric Bottles they advertised. Actually I've yet to see any of the products from this short-lived company.

I dug two "Electricity In A Bottle" at the same dump many years back. One was really dark blue, the other was this sapphire blue. I kept this one.

Very pretty - did they both have the electrodes in them - or just the one? That is so wild that it would still be in there! I wonder how often that happens? Surely it would have to add value...and what a conversation piece! Thanks for showing it!

Gunth, you're an electrical engineer.. tell us, is there any chance any of these "electric" substances actually held a charge?? Or was it just a mysterious and deceptive description, from back when so few people had an inkling what "electric" actually meant? I suppose the same question could apply to "magnetic" products...

Great improvements there Matt. I enjoy the dedicated pages. Electric Medicines is my favorite. I like the meds by states too.

Nice bottle. I think that is the remains of the applicator. It was probably originally connected to the cork/rubber stopper similar to a boot polish applicator.
