One of my first bottle, the “Evangeline” was in black ,but used a harsh soap :(

Shame about the Evangeline, that's unfortunately the thing with ACL bottles - they don't survive well outside unless they happen to be in a very well-drained area. You can get some better results by letting them dry out for a while and then very carefully cleaning the dirt off bit by bit, but sometimes even then they're unsalvageable.

i don't know what kind of soap you used that would of done that , its not a rare bottle . seen it online a fair number of times . evangeline was a big east coast brand so there is alot of there bottles out there .

i like east coast bottles but actually in Ontario , also have alot of east coast books , last week at thrift store found one on sable island and another on Rothesay New Brunswick which seems to be fair uncommon as its a small town
