Further upstream where the stuff was newer , I got 3 embossed milk bottles, and all along, I got a small amount of whole bottles, sewing machine oil, Danas Sarsaparilla, C. Ellis Philadelphia, some local druggists etc. I got some nice shards including an OP Wilsons Hair bottle, and a few other aqua pontil shards

This would have been a nice glazed redware mug. Another bottle I got is an average smooth base aqua relish bottle, but on the base, it is embossed "Mass. Glass Co." circa 1870 or so. Anyone know anything about this glass house? I never heard of it

Great finds. You can put bunches of your images in one post if you will create yourself a photo album and then pull the images from there into your post. I created an album that I use called EMBOSSED BEERS. It is under the PHOTO GALLERIES. I then just add all images there. Then I can pop several images into one single post using them straight from the album. The album was also a good way to make a permanent display for collectors to see and me to use. This is the "how to" page for albums:

This my album:

Try it out and make your own. Hope this helps!!! Look forward to seeing more of your discoveries.

Great finds Bram! I have never dove for bottles or pottery in a river but I have done many dives in local harbors. Digging in the mud can be cumbersome, dangerous and frustrating! Hopefully, you have enough current to clear what you stir up...otherwise it's lights out! I am used to diving in no or low vis, but when there is broken glass all around, it just isn't fun. The hour long swim intrigues me too...I'm assuming this was a surface swim with snorkel! Take care, be safe and keep posting. would love to see some GoPro pics of the bottom as you dig! Chris

"I then found a SECOND one, up stream near the main debris field behind the slaughterhouse. Most of everything down there is broken china and ironstone and white pottery, many broken bowls and plates," Tableware slaughterhouse? [:D]Well I thought it was funny.

Great story and great finds. Now that you figured out how to post pictures ( it took me many a tries before getting it to work ) you can post 3 pictures in each reply.

Like the finds. So have you ever freaked anyone out diving in these rivers? Do they see you surface, or see bubbles etc. and try to ask what you're doing? Or is it pretty much middle of nowhere?

Wow, looks fun! Next time I go digging will be in a tidal area. This post was my tipping point!
