I grabbed this amber medicine for $1 at the flea market this Sunday. It measures 3.75" tall by 2.25 square. Can anyone help to put a date on it? [attachment=20150728_161335.jpg] Here is the neck[attachment=20150728_162510.jpg]Additional photos in the next post...

Here is the base. It has 185 hand etched onto it. [attachment=20150728_163709.jpg] Here is a shot of one side that has a lower case script "o." followed by an "St." with "185 g" below it that appears to have been acid etched. [attachment=20150728_163525.jpg] Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Hi John, I hate to say it but that med looks like a fairly modern decorative piece, not too old at all. Someone else may correct me, but I'm thinking a modern piece. The Hicks, Cantrell and Caldwelles are all nice bottles but all fairly common. The Kepler hutch appears to be number NY0055 in the hutch book, and it's listed as an error bottle, as the "Alexander Bay" should read "Alexandria Bay". Not listed as rare or scarce, but a nice local bottle, and an error bottle too. http://www.hutchbook.com/Bottle%20Directory/HutchSearchResults.aspx?Primary_Name=Kepler&Manufacturer=&City=&Color=&County=&Mold_Type=&State=NY&Plate_Type=&Territory=&Pictures=&Region=&Start_Height=&End_Height=&Country=&Start_Width=&End_Width=&Bottle_Number=&Start_Marked_Year=&End_Marked_Year=&Sub_Categories=&Shape=&All_Embossing=&Rarity=&Front_Embossing=&Added=&Back_Embossing=&Updated=&Base_Embossing=&Comments=&Find_Hutches=Find+Hutchinsons&Source=Attributes

How far up does the amber bottles seam go?

The first pic definitely makes in look like a modern piece but the etching and the seam makes me think it could possibly be older. Maybe it could have been a perfume? It has minimum value regardless of age, but I think it could be older than it looks at first glance. I'm probably wrong though.
