At 36". more brokens than the last 2 layers. Laying on my belly I pulled this out. Last probe to 48", more glass too deep to reach in this little hole. Gettin dark anyways.
Any ideas about this little 3 3/4" tall crock? Thanks.
The little crock could also be a bean pot, for cooking baked beans. I've seen larger bean pots with a similar glaze pattern.
Really enjoying the first picture, with my nose pressed to the monitor. Upper left corner - is the little blue thing a jar or an insulator? Looks like a Haig pinch bottle near it too.
Thanks guys and gals,
I'm pretty sure that spitoons had a wider rim for near misses, and no top. This one's got a top somewhere. Custard sounds good. I was thinking maybe butter.
How long does it take the glaze to puzzle like this?or was it fired this way? Age?[8|]
Hi bluebell That's a noxima and a three sided, abm blob top, embossed federal law etc. Is that a Haig Pinch? Desirable? Got a pic of the pinch? if you send me an email and I can send you better pics of the site. It's quite large and 6 feet deep in some places. How's this for a real mess!
wow!!!!!!!!! that looks like a jackpot waiting to happen!! looks like 30tys on top but what lies deeper, those kick up wines r cool, the creamer is from the 30s , the mason jar is from the 1900s, and the crock is an oldie too, i dug a dump like that once, and found lots of cool embossed sodas, milks, and early masons, lots of wines too ! id get a buddy and id dig a 5 x 5 pit and see whats down there!!! if its goes 6 feet down the old stuff may be at the bottom . thanks for sharing mike
