Found a little jug need info please?

Pick up this little jug today it reads UNIVERSITAS SANCTI LAURENTII IN NOV. EBOR, MDCCCLVI and that is St. Lawrence University and it has the gold University crest on the front very cool it is only 4 3/4 ins tall

I can tell you it's not from 1856 and it's from St Lawrence University but you knew that. That's about it.Maybe it's a hundredth or hundred and fiftieth anniversary thing?
