A friend found this in a local wall and needed gas money so he sold it to me tonight.... Hope he finds more and needs $$ to buy more gas.

That's a pretty one! Nice labeling, too.. and that's just the sort of bottle that people dig up and scratch their heads at, wondering what it was for.. OK, they were not ALL glycerines, but it's a strong hint.. thanks for sharing [:)]

wonder what glycerine was doing in a wall? [&:] like i would understand a beer or soda but glycerine, whats up with that?[:-]

i have never heard of dawes bottles

Dawes was a big brewery here in Quebec (in Lachine which is a small town on the island of Montreal), they made so many different kinds of beers and the early bottles have the name of the brewery embossed on them.

This is the only thing I could find from them currently on ebay...

Ya, Dawes was a BIG bottler back in the day.... Dawes stuff even pops up around here in S.W Ontario sometimes...
