Hi Board !
I could use some help IDing this free blown bottle. It's about 4" high with a globular shape and flared lip. A few scattered bubbles and a nice tilted slant.
Push-up OP on the base with some legitimate base wear. It "feels" like old glass, if you know what I mean ?
What do you think, a newer piece from Mexico or a nice old free blown piece ?

It doesn't have enough bubbles and no crap in the glass to be that artsy crap and the color is to plane to be modern but the ponyil is kinda odd.

It's a strange one and has got me stumped.
There's a thickening on base on one side where the glass has pooled a bit and developed a pumpkin-like appearance (with the sections).

Hey Cap...

I don't see any base wear on this one and that pontil looks too perfect... don't you think???

I don't know about this one... with the swirl, it kinda resembles a mid-western, but man, I don't know. Hope we don't discourage Calico...[:-]

Diver, don't worry about discouraging me, that's why I come here, to get the truth from the experts.[;)]
I can try to get a better picture of the base tomorrow in the sunlight, if you think that will help.

Sorry to say that Warren is almost certainly correct (not sorry for Warren, of course, but rather for Calico) in ascribing 20th century production. There is a CHANCE (albeit a slight one) that the bottle is 18th/19th century and European but it is definitely not an American made piece from the 19th century. Seems like something Calico might want to hang onto and bring to a bottle show so that somebody could make a more definite assessment. (In that it is far, far easier to make a decision of this sort with the piece in hand.) I am personally nearly certain that it is "not old" (i.e. 19th century or earlier) but I have not seen anything exactly like this piece and thus my hesitancy in dismissing it...
