Thermometers were invented in watertown,so I find a lot of them ,probably a hosipital disposal site, find some bones too ,and I dont want to know if there from amputies,I just toss them and move on.I got sick at one area where the dirt was black from mercury ,so when I find the black soil I move away from it.
Interesting stuff Gordon....Were you able to find out anything on the crescent moon figure? What did the water do to your dig spot after your river flood? Nice little flasks.
I havent got a clue about that figure joe ,it appears to have been mounted to something, not sure if its cast, pewter or something else. The flood did me good ,it took all my tailing piles away, so I dont have to throw the dirt as far.
Gotta love that flood water cleaning up for you. Those thermometers are scary, I would stay away from that too... Kinda reminds me of the thermos dump Ben and I dug. For some reason the factory threw thousands of smashed glass inserts into the dump, it was a few feet thick of razor thin glass in some places and it would just come sliding down when you dug... It sucked!
