G.A.P. 1881? Bottle

I am new to the forum so please be patient while i try to figure this all out........I have found a bottle that apears to be a blob top. i am not an expect so i could be wrong...it has the letters G.A.P. 1881 embossed on it. i am going to try to add pictures so everyone who might be able to tell me a little more about the bottle can see it. This is a new hobby i found while i was scuba diving so i am new to the hobby. i am looking for where it was made, what kind of bottle it is, and how much it might be worth.........thank you all to who replys to my post......well seeing how the picture is to big i would be more than happy to photoshare the picture on yahoo instant messenger or email it to you thank you....matt3609@hotmail.com

A fellow member will have more info for ya. But it is a George A Potter Bottle from CT. It most likely was a soda or beer of some sort. I would be interested in it if yoe were selling. They can run about $20 but I bought one recent for $10. It depends on condition etc. Good luck and enjoy this great forum. Tons of very nice and informative members. Also ....enjoy this awesome hobby.

yup, that is George A Potter, from New London CT. He was a Brewer, operated from the 1850's into the 1880's, when his son took over. That bottle was probably made in Boston, wouldn't be able to pinpoint the exact location. Where did you find it? You do not have to be very specific, just wondering what region your in...

value is 20 - 50 bucks, yours would be on the lower end of that...
