In 1935 DR James S. Hall OfClinton Tennessee was a bottle collector who worked in conjuntion with the Wheaton Glass Company to design a flask commerating the Tennessee Valley River Authoritys building of the Norris Dam.On one side of the calabash flask is a large image of Franklin Delano Roosevelt above the United States Coat Of Arms. On the reverse side are the initials T V A. Below the T V A is a clenched fist holding a bolt of lightning and under that is the Norris dam.Dr Hall had a limted amount made 816 to be precise. They were manufactured at the T. C. Wheaton Company in Millville New Jersey which also had the mold cut in their mold department. This is a very heavy Flask but it is hand blown and has a tooled LTC Finish on top of the long neck. The color is brilliant light aquamarine in color indicative of the Cohansey vein of quartz sand running underneath of Millville New Jersey. The pontil mark is a unique one also.
This is precisely the type of bottle the Clevenger Brothers should have been concentrating on instead of all of the copying they did.Had they done so back in 1933 this type of bottle could have been made and it would not only be original but worth quite a bit today. They were proven glass artists it could have easily been done and been profitable I am sure.
