Does anyone know what was in those skinny old crude op aqua bottles embossed "Genuine Essence"?

Some were peppermint extract. Probably vanilla and other stuff too.

Actually, peppermint was brewed up here in my neck o' the woods: the hills of western Massachusetts in the 19th century...

I find only GENUINE ESSENCES

No further info

There is a similar bottle embossed "Genuine Essence P.G. of Peppermint".
I found one of the genuine essence bottles under my kitchen floor a couple years ago.

There is also a PURE ESSENCE and ESSENCE OF PEPPER MINT BY THE KINGS PATENT
