globe tobacco jar

what is an amber globe tobacco jar without a lid worth. i am a soda guy and have a chance to buy one it looks neat to me but no nothing about jars it does have a ground top though so i know it is an original he told me it was around the 1870s when the jar was made. Just need to know if i need to add it to the collection are not.

The amber quarts are valued at $100-150 with the original closure/lid. The lid is usually 50% of the value of those jars. Reproductions of this tobacco jar have been produced with smooth lips.

Finding an original lid for those GLOBE TOBACCO jars is not the simplest of tasks. Very tough to find.
