Has anyone ever seen or dug open pontiled sodas ?

doesnt look like a beer/soda or citrate. My guess would be medicine, small master ink , or other misc utility. Most likely a medicine if its fairly light glass.

To cut down on congestion in the Forum, let me say thanks to you Chris, as well as all other for replying to my question. The one from Cincinnati was the only open pontiled soda I had ever seen before this evening , and I bet it is a rare one for Cincinnati, as I have never seen another since that one. I was pretty sure that the open pontiled sodas had to be a rarity, but did not know just how rare. Thanks again everyone for the response, Lou

The whittle marks showed fine. They really add character to a bottle
